SHAWNA MORRISSETTE
Pottery for me is a
lifeline to my spirit. I use it to heal, create joy, and find inner
peace.
My first memory of playing with the clay was when I was a little
girl and I would dig up the clay from the river banks and the make
wondrous creation and let the sun dry them. I know then that I love
to get dirty and create. It wasn't until years later I rekindle my
love for clay. I was formally trained at Mohawk College for pottery.
I also was formally trained at George Brown College to work with
abused women and children. I also worked at a women shelter running
play therapy groups for the children. I have taken my love for
supporting peoples healing and my love for creating. To established
a safe and wondrous place called Majestic Mud. The focus is on
healing and learning how to play, laugh, love yourself and to find
inner peace and true happiness.
Majestic Mud has been in business since Jan 1999. Majestic Mud
was started on a dream to create a place where everyone was welcome
to come and play and heal. It was made a reality from the help and
support of the Young Entrepreneur Program. With lots of love, hard
work, dedication and long hours Majestic Mud has evolved into
wonderful growing business. We run classes, workshops, birthday parties
5 days a week,for all
ages ranging from 3 to 94. We have to welcome Susan K Gervals a new member
to the Majestic Mud team. A wonderful teacher to learn more about her
read her Bio at the bottom of the page. I believe my business will keep growing
in directions I never could imagine. I truly love this business.
Teaching is one of my true loves, bringing me joy &
inspiration. I believe it is an honor to be apart of someones
creating journey.
Pottery is a way to heal our inner selves.

THESE ARE THE ELEMENTS OF MY LIFE !
THEY CALL TO MY SOUL !
THEY FEED MY SPIRIT !
I USE THEM TO HEAL,TO TEACH,TO CREATE HAPPINESS AND FIND INNER PEACE IN MYSELF AND OTHERS!
CLAY HAS TRULY BEEN A PART OF MY LIFE FOR OVER 33 YEARS
I graduated from Northern College with a diploma in Fine Arts/Marketing.
My experience as a teacher came from over 8 yrs as a Lifeguard and an Instructor.
I took those years of teaching experience and have spent the last 20 years helping
other find themselves through clay, crafts and art.
I love to make people feel good about themselves and sincerely want them to grow stronger
and happier through their experiences in my classes. Laughter echoes in my classroom as t
he students of all ages find joy in creating.
I believe that we are never finished learning…
So in 2001 I returned to school this time at Cambrian College where I graduated with an Above Honours Diploma in
Social Service Work/Gerontology
I have had the pleasure to combine my two loves and develop programs that students of all ages recommend to others.
These are comment that I received from students:
"She can create traditional art work if needed, but could also challenge us, her novice students,
to think outside the proverbial box to find the artists within ourselves. The class was exhilarating…"
Michelle Beauchamp
Special Events Coordinator
Cambrian College Student Centre
"…her work reflects her sincerity, passion, zest for life, sense of humour, and dedication…. Her perpetual optimism challenges her students to think outside the box, feel good about their ideas and her own confidence in achieving a satisfying end result…"

I believe everyone is equal and have something to offer to others. As a teacher I am also the student. I learn something from everyone I teach.
